Our goal is to make professional point-of-sale systems accessible to restaurants of all sizes, from food trucks to small cafes and beyond. We believe that every restaurant deserves access to modern, reliable POS technology without breaking the bank.
Our Story
What started as a restaurant's urgent need for a reliable POS system became the foundation of OrderPi.
While working at a small restaurant, our old POS system failed during a busy service. In that moment of crisis, we discovered ViewTouch—an open-source solution that saved the day. Impressed by its capabilities, we reached out to Gene Mosher, the creator and founder of ViewTouch, who had been developing this innovative system since 1986.
What began as a user quickly evolved into a partnership. As we used ViewTouch in our restaurant, we also began contributing improvements to the codebase. After months of dedication to enhancing and refining the system, Gene honored us with the position of Co-Owner of ViewTouch—a recognition of our commitment to the platform and its mission of serving the restaurant industry.
Today, with the power of AI, ViewTouch has been refactored to meet modern industry standards, ensuring it remains at the forefront of POS technology while maintaining its core values of accessibility and reliability. Through OrderPi, we're proud to bring this modernized, affordable, and powerful POS solution to restaurants everywhere.
